Show " Show Biz Is " Top Entertainment - 1982

The summer of 1982 promises to be another one of excitement and top entertainment at Disneyland Park. Repeating last year's successful variety show, Space Mountain Stage will feature "Show Biz Is"- a delightful look at show biz, from vaudeville to movies to stage shows.

With the humorous and sometimes dubious help of Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Goofy and other Disney characters, a talented group of dancers/singers provides a colorful medley of tunes from many eras. This musical montage combines the tap dancing of vaudeville, the rhythms of Latin America and the precision of " A Chorus Line." Its performers barely pause for a breath between numbers as they race through costume changes at an unbelievably fast pace. " Show Bis Is " is fun to see, and you can see it every day of the week this summer in Tomorrowland.

And of course you won't want to miss the popular Main Street Electrical Parade and the dazzling nightly " Fantasy in the Sky " fireworks.

As in past seasons, Disneyland will feature top musical talents on stage nightly. Famous singers and groups will appear on Frontierland's Rivers of America stage.

At the far end of Main Street, the Carnation Plaza Gardens continues to offer fans one of the few remaining spots for dancing to the music of big bands. A different famous band is spotlighted weekly.

There'll be happy music around every corner of the Park! Rock sounds will emanate from both the Space Mountain Stage and Tomorrowland Terrace.

Other free entertainment includes the All-America College Marching Band, the Dapper Dans singing group, Disneyland Band, Royal Street Bachelors and Coke Corner pianist, among others.

The popular unlimited use ticket, " Passport to Disneyland " continues to be offered at the Park. The Magic Kingdom will open from 9 a.m. to midnight Sundays through Fridays and 9 a.m. to 1 a.m. on Saturdays, begining June 19th through the fun summer season.

New Celebration Button:

As this has been the year of celebrations, Guests have visited our parks to commemorate their special occasions. Celebration Buttons have made their visits even more unique, by allowing them to share their celebrations such as graduations, anniversaries and birthdays with Cast Members and other Guests.
Beginning in 2010 with " Give a Day, Get a Disney Day," we will have a new reason to celebrate with our Guests by recognizing good deeds people do in their communities through volunteer work. Starting January 1st, Guests can sign up and complete an eligible volunteer opportunity with a participating organization and receive free admission to one of our theme parks. When Guests arrive at our parks to celebrate their community contributions, they will receive an " Honorary VoluntEAR" Celebration Button.
The button can be personalized with a Guest's first name, and Cast Members can use the buttons to help celebrate Guests for their volunteer service. The button can be used to create spontaneous Magical Moments for Guests and open conversations about which organization Guests supported, how long they have been volunteering, or simply how they're enjoying their visit with their free ticket. The new button will be available in the same location as existing Celebration Buttons, which will continue to highlight other Guest's special occasions.
Keep your eye out for the " Honorary VoluntEAR" Celebration Button, and help reward Guests for making a difference in their communities.

Disneyland, Summer 1981

Breakfast by the River...

Some people say that breakfast is the most important meal of the day. And well it may be-for the family arriving early at Disneyland prepared to spend the day enjoying its colorful adventures and attractions. To fortify Mom and Dad and the youngsters with energy for a long exiciting day in the Magic Kingdom, there's nothing like a wholesome breakfast of bacon and eggs and authentic Micky Mouse pancakes!!!!

Childern's plates, with decorated Mickey's face hot cakes, along with a complete breakfast menu, are served all day at the Oscar Mayer River Belle Terrace in Frontierland. Oscar Mayer's ham, bacon and sausages complement egg, pancake and waffle dishes cooked to order and served buffeteria style in the pleasant southern plantation atmosphere of this sparkling restaurant. Guests may also enjoy their morning meals (lunches and summertime dinners)at umbrella-topped tables on the terrace overlooking the Rivers of America, where the Mark Twain may come steaming by.

Oscar Mayer was welcomed to the Park's family of participants in 1971 and has been associated with the River Belle Terrace ever since. Oscar Mayer's meat and diversified products are known world-wide for their quality, freshness and wholesomeness. Their hot dogs are a lunchtime favorite at the river-front restaurant and throughout the Park.

Other luncheon items featured are omelets, crepes and sandwiches ( grilled cheese, chicken salad, bacon and tomato and grilled steak ). The friendly staff at the Belle also stands ready to serve those in the mood for an afternoon cup of coffee and tasty waffle topped with strawberries and whipped cream.

Next time you visit the Park, treat your family to breakfast with a view before the start of your Disneyland Day.
