Dr. Lee Returning Home To Dine At Club 33

After working 28 years at Club 33, it was so wonderful to return, but this time I was the guest!
Mickey and Pluto seemed happy to see me and I was sure happy to see them. Honestly, I miss Club 33, being there felt like home.

Honk your horn for No. 53!!!!

On March 13,1969, Herbie, the 1963 Volkswagen racing Beetle, drove his way into our hearts in the film "The Love Bug." Ten days later, 101 Guest-decorated Beetles made their way down Main Street, U.S.A. in Disneyland on "Love Bug" Day to celebrate the film's release.

The cars were judged in the categories of most psychedelic, toylike, comical and best personality. Morton and Barbara Allen of Studio City took top honors and won a brand new 1969 Volkswagen Beetle. Other prizes included RCA portable color TV's, Kodak Super-8 movie cameras and projectors, and new Polaroid cameras.

The live-action film followed the story of Herbie, a pearl white car with a mind of its own and distinguished by red and blue racing strips and No. 53 on its doors. The comedy starred Dean Jones, Michele Lee and Bubby Hackett. Herbie has starred in a TV series and six films, including the most recent "Herbie: Fully Loaded" in 2005 starring Lindsay Lohan.

As a kid, I remember going to the movies to watch "Herbie The Love Bug," ...Dr Lee

Disney's first official fan club turns five:

On March 10,2009, Disney fans were invited to join The Walt Disney Company's first official fan club.

D23 was created to give Disney fans unprecedented access "backstage and behind closed doors to get the inside scoop from every part of Disney, while experiencing the nostalgia, adventure and fantasy of Disney as never before." The "23" represents 1923, when Walt arrived in California and, with his brother Roy, founded what would grow to become The Walt Disney Company.

The multimedia fan club offers its paying members access to an exclusive D23 website with behind-the-scenes stories, a quarterly publication, discounts and the massive D23 Expo, along with other special events offerings. This year, D23 will visit New York City, San Franisco, Chicago, Seattle, Los Angeles, Orlando and other U.S. cities to commemorate dozens of magical Disney milestones celebrating landmark anniversaries. D23's Disney Fanniversary events will be open to the public, with special surpises just for D23 Members.
