Inside the Ontario warehouse:
Stepping into the Ontario warehouse is like walking into a small town with rows of shelves towering above like tall buildings. The sounds of beeping horns fill the air, as Cast Members use this "language" to signal their movements. The warehousing process runs so efficiently, it seems choreographed, which is essential since the Ontario warehouse team sends full truckloads to the resort three to six times daily. This 285,000 square-foot warehouse also supports Aulani, a Disney Resort & Spa, and Disney Cruise Line on the West Coast.
In addition to the merchandise items and operational supplies stored, the warehouse also hosts items that might seem unconventional. Hundreds of attraction tooling and mold materials are stored here, in the event that they are needed for future reference.
The 48 Cast Members who work at the Ontario warehouse take great pride in what they do, agreeing that a devotion to teamwork leads to their team's success.
Located some 30 miles from the Disneyland Resort, as soon as a product is sold in the Disneyland Resort, the replenishment process is triggered, notifying the team on when and which items need to be shipped to Anahiem.
The Distribution Services Cast Members load those items onto trailers and deliver the shipments to Building 100 at the Disneyland Resort.
Next, a team prepares to distribute the items throughout the Disneyland Resort. Scanners linked to a database system tell cast Members what items should be "picked" and where the should go. Teams gather these items by filling red totes and loading them onto a conveyor belt system. The technology is so precise that the system knows exactly how many units will fill one tote and how much it should weight when full, leading to greater efficiency and accuracy. Once items arrive at their ultimate destination, Cast Members prepare the items-the stage where the products ultimalely make their way to the Guest.

Walt Disney built a theme park????
That's right-it took less than a year from time bulldozers first arrived at the orange groves in Anaheim to the day the first Guests were welcomed at the Main Entrance of Disneyland.
July 21,1954 (Dr Lee was 2 years,1 month and 1 day old).....
The first trees were cleared from the property Walt Disney purchased. the main work involved removing citrus trees and moving 11 houses.
August 1954...
Actual earth-moving began, but there was no official groundbreaking ceremony. The McNeil Construction Company of Los Angeles, the lowest of 8 bidders, was awarded the construction contract, which included excavation for a lake , rivers and a bed for railroad track, installation of all underground utilities and a railroad overpass to serve as the entrance to the park.
Also in August, a 50-foot camera was installed in the center of the hub to record construction. In addition, a merry-go-around was purchased in Toronto. After it was shipped to California, it was altered to a four-abreast configuration, and all standing horses were converted to jumpers.
Oct.27,1954...
The first "Disneyland" television series episode debuted; later episodes included construction progress updates.
Major companies committed to participation in Disneyland, including Santa Fe, Bekins, U.S. Time, Chicken of the Sea, ABC, Carnation, TWA, and American Motors.
December 1954...
Earth work, fencing, water mains, gas lines and telephone conduits neared completion. At this time, the total staff consisted of 21 permanent cast members and five consultants (excluding contractors.)
January 1955...
Construction began on Tomorrowland. Originally not planned to open with the rest of the park, Walt changed his mind and included Tomorrowland as part of opening day. He also announced plans to build a hotel on West Street. The Disneyland Hotel was initially owned and operated by the Wrather Corp.
May 1955...
The first orientation program was conducted by Van France, who founded Disney University and was later named a Disney Legend. The term "We Create Happiness" was rolled out- and is still used today.
July 17, 1955...
Opening Day (Invitational Press Preview); the park opened to the general public the following day.

Fun Facts:
Disneyland opened July 17,1953, with 18 major attractions. Today, there are more than 60 adventures and attractions.
From groundbreaking to opening day, Disneyland was built in 365 days.
Well over 600 million guests have passed through the gates of Disneyland since opening day, including 7 U.S. presidents and many other prominent 20th century dignitaries and celebrities.
Having fun is hungry and thirsty work. Every year, Guests at the Disneyland Resort consume an estimated 3 million hamburgers, 2 million hot dogs, 6.5 million orders of French fries, 1.6 million servings of popcorn, 3.2 million servings of ice cream, 1.9 million gallons of soft drinks and 2.8 million churros.
Disneyland Park does not sell chewing gum, because Walt Disney wanted to keep the park clean and prevent Guests from being inconvenienced by stepping in a gooey mess.
Every Disneyland Cast Member wears a name tag, even the draft horses that pull the trolleys up and down Main Street, U.S.A.
Disneyland Resort dresses approximately 21,000 Cast Members, and also maintains costumes for more than 650 Audio-Animatronics figures.
Keeping Disneyland Park clean is no small task. Cast Members use 1,000 brooms, 500 dust pans and 3,000 mops a year to keep the park looking its best, and collects approximately30 tons of trash during a busy day-about 12 million pounds annually. The streets of Disneyland are washed and steamed-cleaned after closing each day.
Not all of the refuse collected in the resort goes to the landfill. Every year, Disneyland Park recycles approximately 4.1 million pounds of cardboard; 1.3 million pounds of green waste; 370,000 pounds of office paper; 361,260 pounds of glass bottles;274,280 pounds of plastic bottles; and 17,240 pounds of aluminum cans.
More than 5,000 gallons of paint are used each year to keep Disneyland looking fresh and better-than-new.
Disneyland has 10 bodies of water, which hold nearly 20 million gallons of water.
The King Arthur Carrousel has 68 horses. No two are alike and they all move.
Mickey Mouse not the original choice for a name, originally he was to be named Mortimer.
Walt Disney did not allow his male Cast members to have mustaches.
When the moat around Sleeping Beauty's castle was dredged, all the money recovered was given to charity.
Richard Nixon's famous "I am not a crook" speech was given at Disneyland. He and Walt Disney were good friends. The Burbank Studio is held up on the hands of statues of the seven dwarfs. The studio was built with the proceeds from Snow White.
ABC once owned shares in Disneyland very early on, now Disney owns ABC.

Fun Fact....
When Disneyland opened, Anaheim had 5 hotels and 2 motels with a total of 87 rooms and there were 34 restaurants in the city. Today, Anaheim boasts approximately 150 hotels and motels with more than 18,000 rooms and over 450 restaurants.

Fun fact....
Did you know that Doritos were invented in Frontierland at the Frito-Lay Mexican food location shortly after the park opened????
The location started cutting up the extra tortillas into triangles, frying them and serving them to guests. The snack was such a hit, Frito-Lay started selling them across the country in 1966.

A Day to celebrate Donald Duck:
June is a quack-tacular month for Donald Duck, who is celebrating 80 years as Mickey Mouse's short-tempered, feathered friend.
By 1934, Mickey Mouse had become a role model of positivity, so Walt Disney decided a new character was needed to do what the little, heroic mouse could not. It was determined that Donald Duck would fit the bill. This lovable character was created with a fiery personality but a genuinely good heart. On June 9,1934, he made his debut in a Silly Symphony cartoon titled "The Wise Little Hen."
Donald Duck's signature sound is credited to Clarence Nash, who was hired by Walt to do animal sounds. Nash imitated a baby goat during his portrayal of a frightened young girl's recitation of "Mary Had a Little Lamb"-leading Walt to declare,"That's our talking duck!!!"
The Walt Disney Company celebrated 50 years of Donald Duck with a grand affair in 1984. The yearlong celebration included a television special hosted by Dick Van Dyke and a cross-country tour with Mr. Duck himself, Clarence Nash. One of the celebration's highlights was the duckling march at both Disneyland and Walt Disney World Resort, which featured a parade of 60 ducklings wearing silly hats down Main Street, U.S.A.
According to Carl Barks, a former Disney Studio illustrator and comic book creator, Donald 's home is in Duckburg, Calisota. However, you can find his boat, Miss Daisy, docked in Mickey's Toontown at Disneyland Park.

June 2,2014, friends birthday:
Today, June 2,2014 is a very special day.
Jim is a friend of my since 1986,and he is 74 years old today. Still working 3 days a week as a dentist in Riverside, California, he acts like he is 50. Still rides motorcycles, at the gym 4 times a week and is full of life. He recently sold his twin engine Duke airplane he has had since 1984.
Leah, she turns 45 today. I have known her since December 05. She has to amazing kids.
Happy Birthday to both...Dr Lee

Doc McStuffins visits Disney California Adventure Park starting May 5th:
Disney Junior fans are in for a treat this summer!! "Doc" McStuffins will be making special appearances at Disney California Adventure Park for a limited time beginning May 5 thru the end of July. Guests will be able to meet her in Hollywood Land near "Disney Junior- Live on Stage!"
Since debuting in 2012, "Doc McStuffins" has become one of the most popular shows on Disney Junior. Doc is a nurturing, 6-year-old girl who can talk to the stuffed animals and toys she cares for in her playhouse clinic, diagnosing their "ouchies" with help from her mom (a real doctor) and her "Big Book of Boo Boos." The acclaimed, Emmy-nominated series airs daily on Disney Channel and Disney Junior.
Since debuting in 2012, "Doc McStuffins" has become one of the most popular shows on Disney Junior. On May 4,2004, a Hollywood-style premiere was thrown at Disney California Adventure Park to celebrate the debut of The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror. At the event, held on the eve of the attraction's official opening, the red carpet was rolled out for celebrities such as Melissa Joan Hart and David Hasselhoff.
Guest of honor Carol Serling, widow of "The Twilight Zone" TV series creator Rod Serling, spoke at a brief ceremony.
"Rod would surely be delighted to know that 'The Twilight Zone' lives on in the hearts of so many fans," she said. "And he would be thrilled to know that his beloved 'fifth dimension' has been brought to life in such an exciting way."
Guests visiting the Hollywood Tower Hotel learn that, on a stormy Halloween night in 1939, five unlucky hotel guests mysteriously disappeared during a doomed elevator ride and were never seem again. Since that dreadful night, the hotel has remained abandoned-until now. A maintenance service elevator awaits those brave enough to journey to another realm of sight and sound. Shrieks and screams fill the elevator as it free falls 13 floors.
Looming 183 feet above the ground, The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror is the tallest attraction at the Disneyland Resort. A must-experience attraction when it opened, it still casts a large shadow for Guests today.
