Eggs and Coffee on Main Street, U.S.A. :


   How many Cast Members or Guests remember the Egg House on Main Street, U.S.A. in Disneyland Park?

 Officially named American Egg house when it opened July 14, 1978, this restaurant specialized in breakfast and was sponsored by the American Egg board.

 The location originally opened December 1,1955, as the Maxwell House Coffee House and was renamed Hills Brothers Coffee House in 1958, before it was replaced by Town Square Cafe in 1976.

  Two years later, the American Egg House restaurant opened before changing,once again, to the town Square Cafe in 1983. The location closed for the last time in August 1992, and became part of the Disney Showcase, a store known for its character shirts, hats and accessories.


Did you know?

 Although the American Egg House is now just an entry in Disney history, many Cast Members still call the gate adjacent to The Mad Hatter shop the "Egg House" gate.


I must say, "I like my eggs over medium with orange juice"...dang, getting hungry!!  Dr Lee
