Guests, Cast Members make 2010 the year of giving back;
" Give a Day. Get a Disney Day." a new program inspiring Guests to get involved in their communities through volunteer service, officially launched on January 1st. Guests may now register for an eligible volunteer activity at www.DisneyParks.com and celebrate their community service with a free ticket to one of our parks. Disney is partnering with HandsOn Network, the nation's largest volunteer network, to match Guests with thousands of nonprofit agencies.
Celebration Buttons have recognized Guests who are visiting for a special occasion, and these buttons will continue in 2010. Participants can choose an " Honorary VolunhtEAR" button which can be used to create spontaneous Magical Moments and start conversations with Guests to make their visit even more memorable.
Kermit the Frog and Miss Piggy are the first official volunteers for " Give a Day. Get a Disney Day." and they are honoring guests who have volunteered with Disney's Honorary VoluntEAR Cavalcade in Disneyland Park. We are also celebrating our Honorary VoluntEARS by selecting them to serve as the Grand Marshals of the parade each day.
Just for Cast Members
Cast Members are invited to participate with a special program designed just for them. The Celebrate Giving Cast Program allows Cast Members to sign up through The Hub and complete an eligible volunteer opportunity and also receive a free theme park ticket that can be given to a family member or friend.
Disneyland Resort Cast Members who participate in the program will also receive a complimentary cloisonne pin that celebrates volunteerism. The pin may be worn On Stage while in costume opposite the nametag throughout the 2010 calendar year.
